Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Illuminae is perfect for sci-fi fans. It is an exciting book about space travel, a deadly virus and artificial intelligence. Fitting, right? This book is a very unique reading experience because the story is told through classified documents, censored emails, and interviews, etc. Trust me, you won't ever get bored. This book keeps you engaged the whole way through. I loved the way they included artificial intelligence and I felt it added so much to the book. This story is full of intense action scenes and crazy plot twists. When I finished this book I was left bewildered. I would say that this is one of my favourite books I have read during social distancing and quarantine!

To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
To Kill A Kingdom is perfect for fantasy fans. It is a retelling of The Little Mermaid and it is AMAZING!
It follows a siren who is destined to be the next Sea Queen. When she betrays her mother, the current queen, she is given a pair of legs and sent to retrieve the prince's heart and return it to her mother. This book is wonderful. It is like The Little Mermaid but with a dark twist. Keep in mind it is a little gruesome and violent. That took me by surprise when I first read the book. You wouldn't expect a retelling of The Little Mermaid to be violent, right? Well, it definitely is! You should not let that hold you back from reading this book because it really is quite the experience.
